Automatically leverage seasonal trends for the best rates.
RateSwitch™ automatically switches you between Solar Club’s HI and LO Rates based on your net generation status.
Using your Pre-Bill™ data:
- When you shift from net importer → net exporter, RateSwitch moves you from LO Rate to HI Rate.
- When you shift from net exporter → net importer, RateSwitch moves you from HI Rate to LO Rate.
- If your status doesn’t change, no switch will occur.
- To opt-in, toggle RateSwitch in your My Account portal.

Rate Rewind™ will show you a preview of the upcoming variable rates before your bill is finalized, and gives you the ability to select the rate that suits you best.

Are you Solar Ready? Sign up for our Pre-Solar Rate and get access to our exclusive,

Our Pre-Solar Rate is uniquely designed for customers who have started their solar journey and are waiting for their system to be ready.
If you are at one of the following stages in your solar journey, this rate is for you.
- You have signed a contract to install a solar PV system; or
- You are waiting for your bidirectional meter to be installed; or
- You are waiting for the Wires Company to designate your site as a micro-generation site, then you are Solar Ready™.
To qualify for this rate, you must provide a copy of the signed installation contract.
Once your site is designated a micro-generation site, you will automatically be moved to the current Solar Club LO Rate.
The Pre-Solar Rate™ is valid for 180 days from the date of enrollment.
If your site is not designated a micro-generation site by the end of the 180 days, you will automatically be put onto the lowest available fixed rate.

What is Micro-generation?
Micro-generation is the production of electricity on a small scale, using renewable and alternative energy sources.
Energy sources are typically solar and wind that are generated by individual home owners and small businesses,
as well as municipal and community buildings to meet their electricity needs.
Micro-generators receive credits for the electricity they produce but do not consume.
Small micro-generators, sized under 150 kilowatts, are credited for the electricity sent back to the grid on a monthly basis at their retail rate.
In 2016, the Micro-generation Regulation
was amended to provide more flexibility for rules on how Albertans can generate electricity.
Changes include increasing the size limit of a micro-generation system to 5 megawatts from 1 megawatt and allowing a micro-generating system to serve adjacent sites.
